Simple Grilled Striploin Steak

Barbeque BBQ Beef Delicious Grilling Juniper Juniper & Rosemary Lift Flavours Recipe Rosemary Sea Salt Simple Steak

Love steak?  There's nothing better than a simple grill!  Even when the weather gets cooler, we still BBQ!!  Serves 2

Lift Flavours - Grilled Striploin Steak

  • 2 x 350g (12.5 oz) Striploin steaks, approximately 1.25 inches thick
  • 7.5 ml (1.5 tsp) Avocado, Grapeseed or Canola oil
  • 10 ml (2 tsp) Lift Flavours Juniper & Rosemary Sea Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste (optional)

Trim any excess fat from the ends of the steaks and score the fatty edge so that you're just barely cutting through the tough connective tissue (this will prevent that side from curling).  Rub with the oil and then rub the salt blend evenly over the sides of the steaks.  Grind the pepper (if using) directly onto the steaks.  Let the steak sit for up to 30 minutes before grilling.

Heat your gas grill to medium-high.  Scrape the grill and spray it with cooking spray.  Grill the steaks for 5 minutes per side for medium-rare.  Turn the steaks a 1/4 turn  after the first 2.5 minutes for nice hatch marks (pro presentation!).  Remove to a plate and cover with foil for 5 minutes.

Serve with your favourite vegetables!  We used roasted, sliced potatoes with onions and roasted carrots.  Oh, and don't forget a nice glass of Malbec or Cabernet Sauvignon!!

Enjoy!!
